PAUL: Glory, glory, hallelieuia !
Get out your ears and bend them toward the crystal set.
Put your hand on the volume dial and TWIST it up just a
little bit louder.
Prepare yourself mentally and physically for the rigours of
the most demanding and popular game show in the canon of game
shows, What's That Noise from Newfoundland.
Hollis Duffett has been exercising like a maniac and feels up
to the task of bringing you the secret sound. Hollis, hoist 'er up.

I get chills whenever I hear that hubbub bubble.
So, let's see what it is that you think it is.
Into the mail sack I wander, to find ... this ... it's a letter from ...
Regina, Saskatchewan, far out on the prairies - scary place, the prairies,
you never know what'll come out of the sky at you there - and it's from
Patrick Devero, and he writes: "Dear Paul, my son, my son, How could you
insult your listeners with a sound so common as that in your latest "What's
that noise ... "? Everybody that has worked on the water for any time at
all knows that noise is the snores of a scull of baby scuppers snoozing on
sunny rocks after a big feed of snagles or whatever. Challenge us with
something a little more harder next time, will you. Yours sincerely, Patrick
Devero."
Here's a confident contestant, no doubt about that, and as to your guess ...
Hollis ?
No, Patrick Devero of Saskatchewan, not a scull of scuppers - whatever
they are.
So, find a pen and paper, I'll give you our contest address as soon as
you hear the noise once more. Hollis, please.
